Mission View Story

Mission View Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church that focuses on biblical, sound doctrine preaching and a passion to see people saved. We utilize traditional music in all aspects of our Music Ministry, and hymns for congregational singing. We like to say that we are “traditional on purpose”.

We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. At Mission View we make an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our city changed.

OUR STORY

1988—A small group and Pastor Larry Webb formed Metro Baptist Church in Kansas City.
1992—Due to some health issues Pastor Webb resigned.
1993–2009—With the leadership of several pastors thoughtout the years the church grew to an average attendance of over 250.
2009—Metro Baptist bought and moved into the current facility with much sacrifice and faith from the church family.
2010–2021—Metro experienced a number of difficult transitions in pastoral leadership. The church family declined in numbers and was ready to shut its doors, but a faithful group of believers never stopped praying that God would revive and renew their church for His glory.
2022–Present—Pastor Vat Mao and his family were called of God to serve and lead the church into a restoring work of God’s grace. The church family has grown spiritually and numerically, the ministry is under continual renovation, and the work of the gospel is growing from this place. With the support of the members and a new vision of the church we became Mission View Baptist Church on Septemeber 2022.

We strive to fulfill this mission through worship each Sunday, faithfully serve one another, growing in the knowledge of Christ through Connect Groups. By God’s grace we will conform His church into the image of Christ, be rooted in love, matured through the Word of God, daily humility with prayer, and joyful in the midst of a darkened world.
